Description
A bold handwoven Afghan Kilim Barjesta featuring eight large diamond medallions arranged in a structured two-column design. Layered outlines, serrated ivory detailing and quartered centres give the motifs a strong three-dimensional presence, while subtle variations between the panels reveal the individuality of the handwork. A border of small geometric rosettes encloses the field, followed by several narrow patterned bands and traditional striped ends. Raised wool sections contrast with the flatwoven foundation, producing the tactile surface characteristic of Barjesta weaving.
