Our craft
Every handmade rug carries the hands that made it
Before a handmade rug reaches your home, it passes through skilled hands: checked knot by knot, repaired where time has loosened it and finished by hand, the way rug makers have always worked.
- Inspected knot by knot
- Repaired by hand where needed
- Cleaned and inspected before dispatch
Sourcing & quality
Where our rugs come from
Our collection combines vintage and hand-knotted rugs, runners and kilims, sourced through international auctions, estates, private households and trusted dealer networks, with a selected range of easy-care machine-made rugs. Every product page clearly states how the rug is made.
Inspected in four steps
-
Condition
Pile, edges, fringes and backing are checked for wear and earlier repairs.
-
Material & knots
Wool, silk or cotton and the knot density reveal quality and origin.
-
Origin
Pattern, colour and technique are matched to Persian, Afghan and Turkish traditions.
-
Cleaning
Vintage pieces are professionally washed and gently restored, with the patina preserved.
Only rugs that pass all four steps join our collections.

Four weaves, side by side
Turn, zoom and compare our four core rug types. Each is made for a different room and a different kind of use.
Pile rug
Rug
The classic: thousands of tied knots form a soft, dense pile with depth, a framing border and room for fine medallion detail.
- Weave
- Knotted pile
- Thickness
- approx. 14 mm
- Model size
- 200 × 290 cm
- Underfoot
- Soft, cushioned and warm
- Best for
- Living rooms, bedrooms, under the dining table
How it differsThe only type here with a cut pile. The knots give it softness, depth and sound-absorbing warmth, so it anchors a whole room.
Shop rugsFlatweave
Classic Kilim
Woven flat on the loom without knots or pile: light, thin and carried by bold geometric bands.
- Weave
- Flatweave, no pile
- Thickness
- approx. 7 mm
- Model size
- 120 × 180 cm
- Underfoot
- Firm, light and flat
- Best for
- Entryways, under furniture, layering
How it differsNo pile at all: half as thick as a pile rug, light to lift, often reversible and defined by crisp geometric motifs.
Shop kilimsPile runner
Runner
The comfort of a pile rug in a long, slim format that leads the eye through a hallway.
- Weave
- Knotted pile
- Thickness
- approx. 14 mm
- Model size
- 80 × 300 cm
- Underfoot
- Soft and cushioned
- Best for
- Hallways, landings, beside the bed
How it differsThe same soft pile as the rug, cut long and narrow: it fills a corridor without crowding it.
Shop runnersFlatweave runner
Kilim Runner
An Afghan kilim in runner format: thin, light and flat, with rhythmic stripes along its length.
- Weave
- Flatweave, no pile
- Thickness
- approx. 8 mm
- Model size
- 80 × 300 cm
- Underfoot
- Firm, light and flat
- Best for
- Busy hallways, kitchens, doorways
How it differsRunner shape with kilim construction: it lies flat so doors swing over it, and it is easy to shake out and move.
