Description
A beautifully sun-washed Afghan Kilim Barjesta with the quiet, time-softened character that only comes with age. Years of natural fading have transformed its original colours into a subtle palette of tobacco brown, dusty rose, muted terracotta, olive and parchment. Eight large hooked tribal motifs are arranged across the pale central panel, surrounded by small stars, angular symbols and rows of geometric ornament. Numerous narrow borders radiate outward from the centre, giving the rug remarkable visual depth despite its restrained colouring.
